Last week the following article appeared in the London Standard: www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23981027-rising-rent-prices-force-flat-hunters-to-share.do. One of the titles is 'Priced out - a generation living with friends.' My two friends and I have been looking for weeks for a 3 bed flat so that we can live together and it's been quite a struggle. In fact, we've got to the point where we've given up looking and I'm now trying to find a room for just me sharing with strangers.
I have 10 days until I have to move out of my flat, and I currently do not have anywhere to go. I am sure that even if I don't find anywhere, I will find a friend who will take me in until I can find a place to live, although I'm not sure what I will do with all my things if this happens.
This whole experience has got me thinking about all the different ways my friends and I live in London. Some of the experiences we've had flat hunting have been quite funny in a black comedy sort of way. So to keep my mind off my impending removal from the flat I currently live in I thought I'd start a blog about the different ways my friends and I live in London.
